"At the beginning, the Creator made them male and female. For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united with his wife, and the two will become one flesh. So they are no longer two but one."

Introduction

Church Weddings remain popular with many couples and we perform many weddings each year as well as marriage blessing services.

Who can get married in church?

Anyone who is resident in the church parish of Dibden (or is on the Church Electoral Roll) and has not been married before is eligible to be married in their parish church. There are now also other qualifying connections, for more information click here to go to the Church of England website.

If you don't meet these criteria, please do come and speak to us.

How do I book a wedding?

You can choose either the All Saints', Dibden, or St Andrew's, Dibden Purlieu buildings.

All Saints' Church

Most couples opt for All Saints' because of its picturesque setting and intimate atmosphere, however it only holds about 86 people. St. Andrew's Church may be a more suitable venue as it provides full access for those with disabilities.

St. Andrew's Church

Some couples choose St Andrew's because it is much lighter, larger and has a lovely, contemporary feel to it.

In the first instance please contact the Church Office - Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm - either in person at St Andrew's Church, or by phone - 023 8084 3204, to make a provisional booking. You will then be invited to a Sunday service to meet the clergy, to see what our church does, and to collect an information pack.

What will it cost?

It will probably be the cheapest part of the day! Fees change from year to year and there is some flexibility.

In 2012 the full total (which includes sums for the Parochial Church Council, organist, flowers, marriage preparation, rehearsal, as well as the official church fees) is £525 (which includes a non-refundable deposit of £100). There is much more help and information available, but the next step may be to contact the Office or talk to a member of the clergy. Come along one Sunday to a service and meet us.
