St Andrew's and All Saints' - at the heart of the community

Jesus said, "Follow me."

Jo Jingles Music and Movement Classes

Music, movement and singing classes from 3 months to school age. We have lots of fun - and learn a lot too - on Thursday mornings at St. Andrew's in the lounge. Classes are held for 3 month olds to walking stage, 1 to 2 year olds and 2 to 4+ year olds. The stimulating sessions are something we enjoy "together" - with Mummy, Daddy or a carer. Classes are run during term time only. Do call Marilyn on 023 80848712 or email jjnewforest@gmail.com for full details and bookings.

Dibden Purlieu Gardening Association

Meetings commence at 7.30pm on the first Thursday of each month, when we have visiting speakers to talk on a wide variety of topics generally accompanying their talks with slides and/or demonstrations. The subjects cover all aspects of gardening and are not only for the avid gardener but also the 'Sunday tidier' and an A-Level standard of Latin is not necessary to enjoy the evening. The speaker is always followed by coffee and a chat

Two outings are arranged each year during the summer months and twice a year we hold our annual sales - this not only raises funds to support our meetings but is a social occasion for members.

Thank you for reading this and, please remember, visitors are always most welcome at our meetings. No need to book - just come along.

Inner Wheel Club of Hythe & District

We are a Ladies Club whose membership was formed as wives of Rotarians. Nowadays, the membership is open to daughters, sisters, partners and closely related females of Rotarians.

We meet at St Andrew's Centre on the first Tuesday of each month for a business meeting and a speaker. Normally, we have a social event during the third week of the month, which varies from "coffee and chat" to theatre outings or places of interest to visit.

We are a charitable organisation and though funds are raised all the year, we have two big fund raising days in April called 'Welcome to Spring' where we usually raise over £2000 for local charities. We are also involved with Overseas Charities and every year support a different one, e.g Sightsavers, Hope and Homes.

Jennie's Shape Up & Dance Class

Jennie Jordan, a qualified teacher registered with the KFA (Keep Fit Association) and with the Register of Exercise Professionals, brings her skills to the St. Andrew's Centre every Monday afternoon for a very popular hour or so of exercise and fun.

Aimed at ladies in the 50+ age group, the group is open to all ages and abilities and actually the group's ages range from late 40s to late 70s - although they're open to older offers!

This is what goes on: from 2.00pm until about 3.15 there's Keep Fit with a dance edge to it - you don't have to be 'a dancer' - and it's NOT aerobics. Then from 3.15 until 4.00 there's (optional) simple line dancing. Again, anyone can do it even if you've never line danced before.

The friendly and welcoming class is open to new members who would like to get some exercise with a social side (every so often the group 'do lunch' together). The cost is £3.50 and the line dance portion is included free of charge. If you're interested, give Jennie a ring on 8084 5761 or turn up just before 2.00pm on a Monday.

Waterside Natural History Society

Waterside Natural History Society is a friendly, local organisation meeting twice monthly to enjoy and promote all aspects of wildlife.

For outdoor meetings we meet at 10am in Oak Road Car Park, Dibden Purlieu (usually on 3rd Sunday of the month) where we leave our cars and proceed to walk to our destination, led by an expert in the study subject.

Indoor meetings are an illustrated talk by an expert on a chosen subject, with social time and refreshments half way, and are held usually on 4th Monday of month.

Visitors of all ages are very welcome

New Forest/Waterside University of the Third Age (U3A)

U3A is a non-sectarian and non-political group that meets in St Andrew's Centre hall on the first and third Tuesdays every month (except August). It offers talks on a wide range of subjects to members who are over 50 and not in full-time employment. Many church members have been active in the group since its foundation 15 years ago as part of a nationwide adult educational movement which now has over 400 individual U3As and over 100,000 members. Visitors are warmly welcomed. Details of subjects and speakers are posted on St Andrews notice board and at Blackfield, Hythe and Totton libraries. Programmes of coming events are available at meetings at the start of each term.
